how it started...
2000s
It all begins with a bite. Founders Joe & Rachel are in their 20s living overseas while Joe is in the military. One of his stations? England, which they’ll soon learn is home of gosh-darn delicious fair-style mini donuts. It becomes a staple — and dare we say core memory — in the household.
2010s
Joe & Rachel, now with two fully-grown kids, embark on their post-military life adventures in San Antonio but soon relocate to Mathis for a slow-paced life. It doesn’t last long when daughter Rylie takes her mom for a gourmet donut treat…which reminds Rachel of something all too familiar.
2020s
Following the excursion, Rachel can’t help but to be reminded of those lil donuts back in England. She goes on-and-on about how yummy those little doughnies were back in England and how much South Texans deserve to try them out. It’s an idea that just can’t be put to rest, and the family agrees.
where we are now...
From that idea, Doughnies was born with a name that effectively captures the cuteness and essence of the small treat with big flavor!
And from December 2022 up until now, we’ve been putting in the effort to curate a delicious and fun experience for people of all ages! In that time, there was only one thing stopping us — the hassle, mess, & safety hazards of an oil-fried donut machine. We just couldn’t envision taking away from special events with a big grease-ball machine and even more set-up & breakdown time than needed.
So we had one question:
How could we create an experience without such a fuss for both us & mini donut lovers?
But after much work and hunkering down, we’re proud to introduce you to our sweet lil business!
We have found and now utilize a process that allows us to be fully mobile and provide an easy & delicious experience with little to no fuss no matter where you are!
All of this to say…we genuinely believe in our Doughnies experience. We know what it it’s like to deal with vendors & all of their set-up & breakdown — the process as a whole can be a big headache. So we’ve worked hard to find a way to minimize that while still adding a yummy mini treat to your special day.
That’s not to say we’re the first to do this — nor will we be the last. But, we’re creating an experience that gives you the most bang for your buck without the big fuss. We’re doing mini donuts the way they were always meant to be — hot, simple, & delicious — just like those days back in England that brought us so much joy.
And now, we want to share that experience with you too.
